Ron Sharpp
Ron Sharpp is the CEO and creative force behind the FaceMod™ movement. Ron has followed his passion for technology since he first discovered it at the age of nine and has since worked as a consultant for fortune 500 companies and small businesses alike. He has also served as the CTO and primary developer for a startup which brought in several million dollars from his work. After leaving his corporate position of three years to pursue his own business ambitions, Ron had an idea for creating an engine to allows anyone to have a custom, personalized web experience. That same day, he discovered a group of over 5 million people petitioning for a dislike button. “That moment, it just clicked,” Ron said, “I thought, ‘This is it! It’s not just me. Everyone wants to have the web, their way!’”
Leonhard Preis
Leonhard Preis is our systems architect / senior developer, responsible for the robust backend platform that holds it all together! Being captivated by high tech and sciences for all his life, he is always looking out for problems worth solving. He got his first chance while working six months abroad as a software developer for a fortune 500 company. Upon returning to Austria he enrolled at the Graz University of Technology and began his academic pursuit of a degree in software engineering and economics. By pure chance he met Ron, who disclosed his vision of the FaceMod™ project to him, to which Leonhard's attention was instantly drawn. "A high load environment and limited ressources", Leonhard supposed, "that's finally a real challenge. And I can build a version for my beloved Opera".
Bill Young
Bill Young is our COO and business operational whiz. Bill brings the perfect blend of business management experience and passion for innovation and technology. In 2000, he founded QaAssociates, a start-up devoted to software quality assurance. The venture was immediately successful, landing Wall Street and mid-market clients from the onset. The company grew substantially and was eventually acquired by a multi-billion dollar international organization. Over the years, Bill has held several positions in a plethora of industries, including VP of Strategy, VP of Int'l Ops, President, Project Leader, Sales Manager, Lead Consultant, and GM. When Bill met with Ron about the project, he immediately recognized that special spark in FaceMod and was determined to become a part of setting the internet world ablaze with this new phenomenon!
